CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR APSCE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (EC) MEMBERS (2020~2023)
Dear APSCE Members,
APSCE needs active leaders and regional representatives involved in the broad field of computers in education to help exercise general supervision over the affairs of the Society and advance the interests and objectives of APSCE. There are 9 EC vacancies for this year’s election. Please see below for nominating active colleagues to serve in this capacity.

NOMINATION ELIGIBILITY
A candidate
(i) must be an APSCE member when running for the EC election,
(ii) must have officially registered for participation and physically participated in at least two out of the four most recent ICCE conferences,
(iii) must indicate a willingness to stand for election,
(iv) must demonstrate a commitment to serving the Society, the SIGs and the ICCE conferences, and advancing their interests and objectives, particularly those already with a good track record of services rendered to the Society, the SIGs and/or the ICCE conferences.
TIMELINE FOR EC ELECTIONS
1. EC nominations due: October 4, 2019*
2. The start of EC nominations voting (with nominations files disseminated): October 18, 2019*
3. The end of EC nominations voting: November 1, 2019*
4. Announcement of EC elections results: November 15, 2019*

NOMINATION PROCEDURES AND MATERIALS
To nominate a member for the EC election, please send the Executive Committee Nomination Form via emails to [email protected]
IMPORTANT NOTES
n The term for this year’s EC election is: 2020~2023 (four-year term)
n As countries including USA, Canada, Norway, and Germany have already hit the country caps on EC election, any nominee from these countries will not be eligible for EC election this year.
n EC Members shall be nominated and elected for a specified member country or region. The member country or region will be the place where the EC Member resides and carries out his or her professional work.
n Only APSCE Member can nominate persons for the EC Member election, and any APSCE Member can nominate up to two (2) Voting/Non-voting Members for election to the EC by all Voting Members.
n Any APSCE member can second up to two (2) nominations.
n In order to enhance its international presence, APSCE may have up to five (5) EC Members from non-member countries or regions, which are nations and regions outside of the Asia-Pacific. Such persons must also satisfy the eligibility requirements. A non-member country or region can be represented by at most one (1) EC Member. Where the total number of filled EC positions from non-member country or region is less than five (5), a non-member country or region may be represented by two (2) EC Members.
n All nominees will be vetted by the Elections Subcommittee to ensure that the nominee standing for the EC election complies with the requirements of APSCE Constitution (access at: https://apsce.net/about.php?
n Every EC member voted in has to obtain 50% or more of the cast votes.
