Abstract:
In this webinar, I will be sharing my experience as a reflective practitioner in two diverse domains of 3D animation and Faculty Development. During the design of skill development MOOCs on 3D animation, I was able to build a community of practice. This community has not only excelled in the animation skills, but also has been instrumental in supporting thousands of MOOC learners subsequently.
In the second project, as co-creator of the learner-centric MOOC (LCM) model, I will describe our efforts towards designing faculty development programs to help teachers create their own LCMs. The top performers were nurtured to come together and build a community to propagate the concepts of active learning and learner-centric content creation. Together, they have created one MOOC, 6 online courses, commissioned FDPs, several online lectures, and have also published widely. I will  present the features of the process to build these communities of practice which have been successful in reaching out at scale.
