Abstract:
Smart and mobile technologies dominate the everyday life of many people around the world. The potential of this kind of technology for education is not new and has been studied for almost two decades within the field of mobile learning. This field has raised the concept of seamless learning with its emphasis on changing and connecting contexts. Today, seamless learning apparently contradicts the constraints many of us have been exposed to over the past year – that often implies reduced to no mobility. In this webinar we deep dive into the core concepts of mobile and seamless learning and explore the relation between context and learning to make sense of the seams in education and learning. On this foundation I will address context as the core design principle of seamless learning beyond mobile technologies. This will lead to open research questions on context in conventional and technology-rich forms of education and learning.
