Abstract:
STEM education is one of the focal directions in school education in the 21st century for preparing the young generation to succeed in their learning and daily-life in the digitalized society. There is a growing trend in STEM education to integrate STEM activities with computing to engage students in the development of curiosity, imagination and capability to create STEM design and to solve real-world problems with the integration of computing. The symposium aims to provide insights on this growing trend in STEM education for fostering problem solving and creativity development among students in the digital era. The symposium will consist of invited presentations and open-floor discussion about the experiences, challenges, and expectations for STEM education to foster students’ development of problem-solving skills and creativity.
