Sub-Conference on Classroom, Ubiquitous and Mobile Technologies Enhanced Learning (CUMTEL)

In the 2000s, mobile devices and wireless technologies were first used to support education. Since then, mobile devices have gradually been introduced into both classrooms and outdoor learning. Moreover, mobile devices not only support teaching and learning but also support data gathering. Mobile technologies have offered an opportunity to learn anywhere and anytime, and changed our learning style.

Against this background, CUMTEL has opened up a new line of educational research that highlights both pedagogical and technological innovations to enhance pedagogical practices in mobile, contextualized, and ubiquitous learning environments. This theme-based conference will present and share the results of current research efforts in this field and future challenges in terms of pedagogy and technologies, as well as socio-technological aspects such as scalability, policies, privacy and security, and teachers’ professional development. The scope of the conference will cover but not be limited to the following topics:

  • Theoretical aspects of CUMTEL
  • Classroom interaction mediated by mobile and ubiquitous technologies
  • Mobile and ubiquitous learning scenarios
  • Mobile social networks for learning
  • Mobile Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (mCSCL)
